Environment paper of Class 10 Chhattisgarh Board got postponed after invigilators distributed the question papers among class 12 students at an exam center in Bemetara reported a news website.
"The concerned invigilators opened and distributed among students the question paper of Environment, which is meant for class 10, at the examination Centre for class 12 students in Bemetara. Due to this the class 10 paper has to be postponed," a senior Education Department official said on Thursday.
Three teachers on duty when the incident happened was suspended and a show cause notice was issued to Bemetara district education officer for alleged dereliction of duty in connection with the ongoing board examination for class 10 and 12
The department on Wednesday suspended Shushil Choubey, attached to the government higher secondary school Bemetara, Salikram Parasbhadre and Gaus Mohammad Kureshi-both attached to the government HSS, Babamohtara, he said.
A show cause notice was also issued against Bemetara DEO Hemant Upadhyay in this connection.
The department has already directed teachers and school administration to be careful during conducting the examinations and in strengthening the functioning of flying squads to check copying, the official said.
"The district collectors concerned are also issued necessary directives regarding flying squads," he added.
Around 2.85 lakh students are appearing in class 10II state board e10aminations while 4.60 lakh students for class 10 examinations, which will conclude by March 28.
